Winter Spirit is an annual event that takes place in Lewiston, Idaho for the month of December and through New Years Day.

Every year, Locomotive Park gets all gussied up in about a million multi-colored holiday lights. It’s a truly incredible scene to witness in person.

Even the antique train engine and caboose get all decked out in holiday spirit! Strolling through the lit-up park is a yearly tradition for many families.

There’s even a giant fireplace in the park for when you feel like warming up. Winter Spirit has been providing this incredible winter display since 1994, when it started as just 12 decorated trees.

It’s amazing to see how the event has grown over the years. More lights seems to get added every year and the displays become more involved and vibrant.

Admission to this magnificent display is free. Dozens of people volunteer their time every year to set up the lights weeks in advance. A ton of hard work goes into preparing for this event, and the end result is marvelous.
