With Virgin Atlantic soon to be gone by the end of 2018, it would appear that the airline is going out with a festive bang. There are plenty of unique things about Virgin Atlantic that made it so well-loved, but if you’ve never actually flown with this airline then you may not be familiar with one item that passengers are always trying to sneak off of these flights. Keep reading below to find out why this airline is finally encouraging its passengers to take their merchandise with them!

Virgin Atlantic/Facebook Back in October, we reported that Virgin Atlantic had been bought out by Alaska Airlines and would no longer exist by the end of 2018. With this year being Virgin Atlantic’s last holiday season, the airline company is finally giving its passengers what they’re always managing to take with them anyway.

The shakers became so well loved that eventually thousands of them went missing from flights and have even ended up on eBay! Yes… people like them that much!

Virgin Atlantic/Facebook So after years of these shakers disappearing, Virgin Atlantic rolled out their salt and pepper shakers once again - except this time they would have “pinched from virgin atlantic” engraved on the bottom! The new engraving was meant to prevent passengers from taking the shakers home with them, yet they still managed to go missing.

Now passengers riding with Virgin Atlantic in Upper Class from December 21st through December 26th will be encouraged by the airline to take home the iconic shakers. And even better? The shakers will be released in a holiday red color as compared to the usual silver that passengers are use to sneaking off with.
