Whitefish Bay is a northern suburb of Milwaukee just a few minutes drive from downtown directly up Lake Drive along Lake Michigan. This charming little town has a picture-perfect and quaint main drag and hosts some of the coolest “small-town” type events that folks in a big city could hope to see.
Every Halloween, they set up a pumpkin display to rival anything you’ve ever experienced. And the best part is it’s totally interactive. The Great Pumpkin Festival takes place October 25-29 this year at Schoolhouse Park across from the city library and you’ll not want to miss out.
For 31 years, the folks in the northern Milwaukee suburb of Whitefish Bay have been putting on an amazing jack-o-lantern festival.

Enter the pumpkin patch, pick out a pumpkin and bring it into the carving tent! Prepare, design and carve your pumpkin right there. They provide free pumpkins, carving tools, candles, and table space. Design a jack-o-lantern, and it will be lit and on display every night.

Hundreds of pumpkins are carved and displayed, making this one of the biggest pumpkin festivals in the state.

The best part about this awesome festival is that it’s totally interactive. Sure, a couple of “professional” pumpkin carvers will be there, but for the most part the pumpkins that are displayed are made right there on site by festival-goers.

Last year, 700 pumpkins were carved in a single night - that’s one every 15 seconds!
