What was the last movie you saw at the drive-in? These once popular weekend destinations have been disappearing over the years, especially as luxury theatre experiences and home streaming services have become more common. However, New Mexico is home to a couple drive-ins that have managed to survive the decades. Let’s take a look at one of them!
This is Fiesta Drive-In Theatre, located in Carlsbad and it is one of New Mexico’s last drive-ins. It briefly closed last year for upgrades but it just opened back up this month!

The theatre itself has been around since 1948 and, while it has changed ownership a few times and added new screens, it has become a symbol of America’s undying love for the cinema and cars.

The theatre has a total of three screens for viewing movies and, if you’ve never been to a drive-in before, you just need to dial your radio to a specific station to hear the movie.

And don’t forget to stop by the concessions stand! You’ll find your favorite movie snacks here, as well as burgers and pizza.
