With winter (hopefully!) on its way out the door, we know you’re likely itching to get out there and explore something new and exciting.

Ohio is full of enchanting places to discover, but some of the best ones are the ones that take a little bit of a journey to see. Charleston Falls Preserve is the perfect place to explore when you want a short hike to a beautiful destination. Check out this gorgeous Miami County gem:

With more than 216 acres of prairie and forests, this popular park is an ideal place to hike and see wildlife.

The preserve is home to more than 3 miles of trails, and the trek to the falls is a fairly easy hike. (There’s also a small cave that’s fun to find.)

The closer you get to the falls, you’ll see boardwalks guiding the way…

…and depending how strong the flow of Charleston Falls is that day, you can usually hear them before you see them.

Like any waterfall, it’s best viewed after heavy rainfall.
