There’s a new restaurant that recently opened, and it’s quickly becoming one of the best restaurants in Baton Rouge. Their menu is unique, their ingredients are fresh, and the meals are lip smacking good.

Elsie’s Plate & Pie just opened a few weeks ago, and it’s already creating a buzz in Baton Rouge.

Elsie’s Plate & Pie/Facebook Chef Paul Dupre decided to name the restaurant after his grandmother, Elsie Marie Campeau Rupe. Grandma Elsie was known for creating memories and meals in the kitchen, and when Chef Dupre wanted to start his own restaurant, he knew just where to draw inspiration from.

Chef Dupre remembers his grandmother baking pies as a child, so of course the menu had to feature some delicious desserts.

Elsie’s Plate & Pie/Facebook Apple Pie, Almond Joy Pie, Chocolate Cream, Coconut Cream, and the S’mores Pie (pictured above) are just some of the tasty pies that you can get by the slice or the whole pie. (They’re so good you’ll want to take the whole thing home.)

Taking recipes from both his family and his culinary experience, Elsie’s is a wonderful place for lunch or dinner.

Elsie’s Plate & Pie/Facebook Everything is made from scratch using only the freshest ingredients. The menu is unique yet familiar, incorporating all the Louisiana favorites you know and love, with a little twist.
