If you believe in all things ghostly and paranormal, then this upcoming event is for you. South Carolina’s famously haunted Old City Jail in Charleston will be the venue for a hunt for one of its most famous previous residents. To add to the thrill, as if this night couldn’t get any more creepy, the overnight ghost hunts will take place on the anniversary weekend of her hanging!

Perhaps you’ve heard of Lavinia Fisher, the woman credited by some as being the first female serial killer in America. She and her husband John were convicted of highway robbery (not murder) and held prisoner in the famously haunted Old City Jail in Charleston — until her hanging on February 18, 1820.

These days, Lavinia is considered the most present ghostly being regularly encountered at the notoriously haunted old jail.

The overnight paranormal investigation is set for the very weekend of the red-letter day of her lionized death and takes place for three sinister hours from 12:00 a.m. until 3:00 a.m. Prowl the old structure seeking confirmation from Lavinia herself that she’s still around. Perhaps she’ll even express how unhappy she is that you’re celebrating the day of her death.

This annual overnight paranormal investigations only take place on the weekend anniversary of Lavinia’s death. This year’s dates are Saturday February 17th at midnight and Sunday February 18th at midnight.
