Minnesota is home to some pretty incredible state parks. From the most visited parks like Gooseberry Falls or Itasca to lesser-known spots, there are gorgeous nature areas in every corner of the state. They are all great, but there is a new one that you’ll want to move to the top of your state park bucket list. Lake Vermilion-Soudan Underground Mine State Park is Minnesota’s first new state park since the early 1990s. Take a look:

Given the park’s name, it should come as no surprise that it is located right on the banks of Lake Vermilion. This scenic lake is one of the most beautiful in the country, and the new state park makes it easier than ever to visit.
