If you need time to unwind and just enjoy the calming sights, a scenic drive may be a good option. North Dakota has a seemingly endless span of land to explore and plenty of roads to do so on. Some of them may be a little out of the way and heading to nowhere, but that doesn’t mean they wouldn’t make a great scenic route. The Rendezvous Region Scenic Backway is a perfect example.

The route will take you across the Pembina Gorge and the accompanying river. The sights of this place are absolutely breathtaking.

The Gingras Trading Post - one of the oldest structures built in the entire state of North Dakota - is also along the Rendezvous Region Scenic Backway. This place is free to visit and full of history.
