Redwoods are among the tallest trees on earth, and to see them in person is to stretch your neck upwards in complete awe. At their tallest, these massive trees can grow over 350 feet in height.

Redwoods are often confused with another native of California, the Giant Sequoia, yet the two are strikingly different.

Redwoods grow in a 450-mile long area along the coast, while Sequoias dwell along the slopes of slopes of the Sierra Nevada range in central California.
And while the Giant Sequoias are the largest trees in the world, the Redwoods hold the title for tallest.

The world’s largest redwood forest is known as Rockefeller Forest, which is located in Humboldt Redwoods State Park.
In a remote area of the National Redwood Forest, there exists a recently-discovered Redwood known as Hyperion that’s estimated to be nearly 700 years old and measures a whopping 380 feet tall.
