Delawareans grow up eating seafood fresh off of the boat, locally raised chickens, and vegetables right from the garden. Why is it, then, that we’ve got such strange food tastes? These iconic Delaware dishes are favorites throughout the state, but to outsiders, they may seem just a little bit strange. When was the last time you ate something on the below list?

Flickr / Goulash Of course, Goulash is found in plenty of places, but you know you’re at a Delaware party when someone makes this dish for the crowd. Spaghetti sauce, pasta and ground beef combine to make an interesting meal.
What’s your favorite iconic Delaware food? Personally… I’ll skip the strange stuff and stick to our best Boardwalk foods. Particularly when it’s the middle of Winter…I’m really missing out on Thrasher’s fries, Gus and Gus fried chicken, and the other Boardwalk staples.
