Six Flags New Orleans has sat abandoned since 2005 after Hurricane Katrina hit. Mother Nature is slowly reclaiming the area, and these photos are hauntingly beautiful. Just remember, the property is off limits, and trespassers will be prosecuted, so don’t even think about paying it a visit!
The park opened in 2000, and was originally called Jazzland. While the park had many attractions and thrill rides, the park did not do well.

In 2003, Six Flags made some renovations to the park and renamed it “Six Flags New Orleans”.

Six Flags had plans to build a waterpark that would be part of admission, but Hurricane Katrina altered their plans.

With no plans to reopen, the park has sat abandoned all these years.

Development plans were drawn up to rebuild the area into an outlet mall, but the plans were abruptly called off in 2013.

The area is completely off limits, and trespassers will be prosecuted, so please do not go exploring!
