Rhode Island is small, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t some world-class treasures right here in our little state. With the number of museums and universities we have, it really isn’t that much of a surprise. Here are are some amazing treasures you can check out right here in Rhode Island.
- An original 1871 Claude Monet painting “Hyde Park”
Flickr/ rocor There are several gorgeous Monets at Rhode Island School of Design Museum. Visit them at 20 North Main Street in Providence in their painting and sculpture collection.
- Sprite, the oldest sailboat
Herreshoff Marine Museum Built in 1859, Sprite is the oldest existing private yacht in the United States. It was the first boat that Nathaniel Herreshoff designed and built, at the age of 11 and a half. See her at the Herreshoff Marine Museum and America’s Cup Hall of Fame in Bristol.
- A piece of pirates treasure

- A cookbook illustrated by Salvadore Dali
