In case you missed it, there is good news: On November 4, 2017 a different kind of lantern festival will be geared toward Georgia residents, in order to create an incredible illumination for the senses. Imagine thousands of Georgians gathered together for food, dancing, live music and then a mesmerizing eruption of lanterns into the night sky. The Light Fest will take place on November 4, 2017 emphasizing the Atlanta community, but open to all Georgia residents.

The lantern festival is dedicated to sustainability and the environment, using non-standard, fully-customized lanterns that only stay in the air for a short period of time.

While traditional lanterns can climb upwards of one mile in altitude, these lanterns are designed for quick and easy retrieval, not to mention made of biodegradable and non-flammable material.

But just in case for those concerned, all of the events are maintained and supervised by a local fire marshal and fire professionals.

Guests will receive personalized tiki torches to which they can light throughout the night and then use to ignite their lanterns together.

From 3pm-9pm, Georgia residents can listen to live music, chow down on delicious eats and prepare for the illuminated send-off of a lifetime.

There is a caveat that everyone in Georgia who wishes to attend–it falls outside the state limits. Due to heavy restrictions in the Atlanta area, Lights Fest must be held in Mumford, Alabama at the Talladega GP Parkway. However, November 4th is specifically catered to Atlanta residents and Georgia lovers alone, with another night being geared toward Alabama residents.
