As the most isolated population center on earth and a true melting pot of cultures, the Hawaiian Islands are home to some of the world’s greatest cuisine. But in order to taste some of most mouthwatering food Hawaii has to offer, you must be willing to leave the popular resort areas and check out local restaurants. Far from Kailua-Kona on Hawaii’s Big Island, and located in the small residential community of Mountain View is one of our favorite restaurants in Hawaii: Honi Wai Cafe.
Mountain View, located right outside of volcano, is a largely residential community home to nearly 4,000 residents. This census designated place is home to Honi Wai Cafe, charming eatery worthy of a trip. Unfortunately, most people only stop here if they are hungry as they are passing through from Hilo to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, or vice versa.
