The celebration lasts nearly three weeks but one of the first major events is the Taste of Soulard where you can explore the bars and restaurants around the neighborhood. From Cajun classics to St. Louis style pizza, you can get a taste of it all February 3rd and 4th.

On Sunday, February 4th, everyone’s favorite Mardi Gras event is back for another year. The Beggin Pet Parade is the world’s largest costumed pet parade!

Directly after the pet parade is the Wiener Dog Derby. There are four age-based classes but only one Wiener can be crowned champion! Spectators can watch the fun for free at the Wiener Stadium in Soulard Market Park.

Friday before the big Mardi Gras parade you can celebrate all night at the Mayor’s Mardi Gras Ball. This awesome party is located in the historic St. Louis City Hall.

Saturday, Februray 10th, is the grand finale with the Bud Light Grand Parade. The parade begins at Busch Stadium and proceeds through the streets of Downtown South and Soulard to the place where your beer was born: Anheuser-Busch Brewery.
