Mt. Shasta is one of Northern California’s most serene towns. Located in Siskiyou County, it’s completely surrounded by the most pristine mountain wilderness. Mount Shasta City Park sits right outside the town, and it’s here you will find the headwaters of California’s most majestic river.

The headwaters is located at the base of Spring Hill in the park. This small park is easy to miss, but you’ll find it off of I-5 on Mt. Shasta Blvd. The hike into the park to find the headwaters is fast and simple, making it a perfect pit stop if you find yourself traveling through the area.
