You probably know that North Conway is a prime destination for skiers and other winter sports aficionados. What you may not realize is that there’s a 45 kilometer trail network that connects various parts of town — and on February 25 that network becomes a magical trail leading to all sorts of chocolate goodies. You won’t want to miss this delightfully sweet festival!
Chocolate lovers have flocked to North Conway for nearly thirty years for the Mount Washington Valley Ski Touring & Snowshoe Foundation’s annual Chocolate Festival.

During the festival, participants travel by cross-country ski, snowshoe, or shuttle bus to a number of different inns and businesses.

At each location, they’re given absolutely delectable chocolate treats, ranging from chocolate mousse in a chocolate shell to chocolate covered marshmallows. Adult beverages are available at a few of the locations as well.

If you want to snowshoe part or all of the trail, but don’t have your own equipment, you can rent it from several area businesses for the day. The workout will definitely make you deserve those chocolate treats!

If you’d prefer to focus on the chocolate and skip being out in the cold, you can also just take the bus provided by the event. The shuttle route starts at Stonehurst Manor and loops around to the other stops on the route, so you can spend time in each at your leisure.
