Few people are aware just how fun Kansas City can be. We’re home to an incredible canopy walk, but have you ever heard of it? It’s an amazing experience for anyone brave enough to try it. If you’re worried about losing your footing, it’s completely safe and you’re anchored to a line to keep you from falling. Yikes! Is your stomach churning yet?
Go Ape USA has turned an area of Swope Park into a treetop jungle gym, where you can safely climb through the trees and zip-line safely back to the ground. To start, this canopy walk features five treetop obstacles, each leading higher into the trees towards the end of your trip. In total, there are 39 crossings made up of planks, steps, Tarzan swings, and five zip lines with stunning views of the canopy. Overall, the safety brief and complete journey will take around 2-3 hours!
Note: they don’t allow children under 10 years of age or under 55 inches tall, so make sure you measure the kids before heading this way. In addition, make sure you also wear closed shoes and gloves. We want all climbers to be as safe as possible. Now that that’s all settled, let’s get up there!
You’re given a safety demonstration and taken up to the tree tops where you’ll find yourself surrounded by foliage.
