Christmastime is the perfect time of year to discover some of Florida’s most charming small towns. Whether you already know and love the town of Mount Dora (located in Central Florida) or you’ve never been before, there are at least two million reasons you should schedule your next visit soon:

Mount Dora is one of Florida’s most magical Christmas towns, as Donnelly Park and the historic downtown area are decked out in more than two million twinkling lights.

The lighting ceremony is held on Saturday, November 25th, and the lights stay on through the month of December. There will be various events throughout the month, including bus tours, a boat parade, and a magical train ride.

The Christmas Walk takes place on Friday, Decemeber 1st. This holiday-themed block party runs from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Then, at 10 a.m. on December 2nd, there’s a street parade, followed by the traditional lighted boat parade in the evening.

In addition to its charming downtown full of shops and great restaurants, is also home to some gorgeous Victorian homes. You can tour several of these, beautifully decorated for the holidays, on the home tours that take place December 2nd and 3rd.
