The best part about spending time in Maine is discovering the hidden gems, nestled within the nooks and crannies of small towns. For some, “middle of nowhere” might mean leaving their forest home and heading to the coast. For others, it might mean driving as far north as possible, stopping only when it’s necessary to pull out a passport. But for many, the “middle of nowhere” simply means a place they don’t often travel to see. Today, we’re talking about Greenville. While you may know where it is, there’s a good chance this fun store isn’t on the list of places you visit every day…though, we’d argue that maybe it should be!

Those who grew up in and near the Moosehead Lake Region might fondly remember the Moosehead Lake Indian Store.

jerseyjill8 / TripAdvisor The store plays a starring role in the memory of folks who spent summer at the lake, heading into town to see what they could afford to buy the Indian Store.

But, the two people who might have the fondest memories are the ones who have worked to create another version of their childhood memories in the form of Kamp Kamp.

Randy Coulton and Cheri Goodspeed are siblings who spent summers vacationing in the area. Together, they continue to create a modern take on the old Indian Store from years ago. Whether visitors come in and remember it from childhood or whether this is be their first time in the area, the goal is to provide something fun, interesting and worth coming back for.

It’s hard to say just what kind of store Kamp Kamp is.
