New Hampshire is full of beautiful churches, from the tiny and simple to the massive and ornate. You probably already have a personal favorite – but if you haven’t seen the stunning church tucked in tiny Eaton, your assessment of the Granite State’s offerings simply isn’t complete.
The Little White Church in Eaton is about as picturesque a New England chapel as you can imagine. Nestled between the mountains and Crystal Lake, it’s impossible to visit without feeling a sense of peace and tranquility.

The church was built in 1879 by the tiny town’s Freewill Baptist community. Though there is no longer a Freewill Baptist congregation in the area, the church is now a popular site for weddings and events, as well as church services.

The interior is beautifully spare and light-filled, and harkens back perfectly to a simpler time in New Hampshire.

The cemetery is beautiful too, and home to many stories from Eaton’s past. Occasionally, a local historian will offer a tour and share the gossip and lore of days long past.
