The drive has plenty of turnouts along the way that stop by fascinating parts of the park including sweeping vistas, unusual geological formations, and plenty of hiking trails to get out and take a walk through the terrain yourself.

The gently curving road traverses the prettiest parts of the park and there are quite a few stops that would be great photo opportunities or picnic spots along the way.

The drive goes all the way to the famous Oxbow Overlook that will give you an absolutely incredible, panoramic view of the valley surrounding the Little Missouri River.

You’ll have to remember to be patient on this drive, however, as you might hit a bit of traffic on the way!

Bison herds are abundant in both units of the Theodore Roosevelt National Park and they rule the road, but it just makes the experience all the more unique and memorable.
