We’re definitely looking forward to spring, and one of the best ways to celebrate warmer weather is by getting out into Wisconsin’s beautiful outdoors. Here’s a hiking trail that’s easy, and surrounded by unrivaled natural beauty.

Kohler-Andrae State Park is about 50 miles north of Milwaukee.

The park covers 988 acres and includes sand dunes, wooded areas, wetlands, and beaches. This pretty park is the perfect place to spend a sunny spring day exploring.

The Cordwalk/Boardwalk Trail winds its way along the coastline of Lake Michigan for 3.2 miles out and back.

By late spring, you’ll encounter vibrant wildflowers in the wetlands and marshes.

The trail keeps you on a boardwalk, which is mostly level but does have a few slight elevation climbs as you traverse the hills.

In a few spots, the boardwalk is slanted, making the hike a little more difficult. Make sure you wear sturdy shoes with good tread for this hike.
