When Americans think of unforgettable, sometimes exotic, trips, they often think about Italy, New Zealand, or the Caribbean. While those are all beautiful places well worth visiting, some of the best places to go are right here in the United States. Well, beginning 320 million years ago, rain and wind began chiseling away at sedimentary rock, creating mind-blowing formations… a stunning series of sandstone sculptures that can only be named something as fitting as “Garden of the Gods.” More information here.

Kansas - Sommerset Hall Cafe

KansasTravel.org While most of this list is comprised of natural wonders, Kansas has a secret that’s a little different. And it comes in the shape of a pie. Because it is a pie. Sommerset Hall Cafe is in Dover, Kansas and it has what’s considered the best pie in America, according to Good Morning America. Norma Grubb, the cafe’s pie-maker, made over 10,000 pies for the cafe by the time she retired at age 89. In 2011, Norma sadly passed away but her legacy lives on in our hearts.. and stomachs. Give their pie a try. 🙂
