One of the best ways to fully appreciate Austin’s natural beauty is to get out and hike around in it! Lace up your hiking boots and head to this pretty park for a fun, easy hike.
The 400-acre Roy G. Guerrero Colorado River Metro Park is a little gem in southeast Austin.
Stephanie Anderson/Google In addition to a playground, volleyball courts and baseball fields, this pretty park offers a nature preserve, hiking trail and even a “secret” beach. The park is located at 400 Grove Boulevard in Austin. You’ll find the trailhead at the parking lot.
The trail is 3.5 miles round trip, and is a nice, easy stroll that’s perfect for everyone.

There’s a little spur trail early on in the hike that takes you to Secret Beach.

This little beach is a good spot to cool off on a hot, summer day. You might choose to bypass the spur trail and finish hiking along the trail and back before dipping your toes in the water.
