You have a couple of options if you decide to spend the night at the railway. The first option is to sleep in a real, working caboose. This specific caboose was delivered to the station over four decades ago, and now you can spend the night in it.

It contains just the basics, like bedding. There is no electricity or air conditioning and you have to go to the bunkhouse for running water, showers, and restrooms.
The second option is a little more cozy than the caboose. Spend the night in this authentic bunkhouse which has been renovated to suit any visitor’s needs.

The bunkhouse doesn’t actually contain any bunk-beds anymore. Guests of the bunkhouse will have their own room with either a queen or twin sized bed, along with access to a shared kitchen and bathroom.

Back in the day, the bunkhouse was constructed to entice workers to come work for the railroad. East Ely has always been a remote area, so the railway provided workers with lodging to make working here desirable.
