Texas is a camper’s paradise. If you love sleeping outdoors, there’s no better state to live in. There are only a couple places, however, where you can stay on a floating campsite, and one of them is Sea Rim State Park.
Renting out the floating campsite is signing up for a guaranteed great time. Keep reading to find out more about the included amenities and opportunities for fun.
The campsite is just two miles from the boat ramp, so you won’t have to paddle very far at all. Feel free to bring your own shallow draft boat or rent a canoe or kayak at the park if you don’t own one.

You have to provide your own 5-gallon bucket and a solid/liquid waste bag with neutralizing enzymes, but the bag + bucket can be purchased at the park store. Containerized fuel stoves are permitted for cooking, but no ash producing fires are allowed.

It only costs $15/night to camp here - a pretty good deal considering you get to feel as if the entire Gulf is yours. Up to four people can fit comfortably on the site.

The campsite is scheduled to open up in early summer, so start planning when you want to visit now - considering there’s only one floating site available, reservations are expected to be made months in advance.
