While most of us delight in the magic of fall foliage, those with colorblindness can’t usually partake in this seasonal phenomenon. That’s where the beauty of Tennessee’s new leaf-peeping technology comes in. The Department of Tourism has recently installed “colorblind-less viewfinders” to allow those who typically cannot differentiate red/green colors to experience the full spectrum of autumnal color.

It’s estimated that 13 million Americans experience colorblindness in various levels of severity. Much of this condition involves the inability to differentiate between red and green color pigments.
