Did you know that there was once a magical amusement park on the Oregon Coast? Pixieland opened on June 28, 1969 and was a top destination for family fun on the coast. This whimsical park had everything: thrilling log flume rides, a penny arcade, train rides, an enchanted forest and even an opera house with daily live performances. Sadly, Pixieland ended up closing its doors in 1973. Wet weather on the Oregon Coast along with other factors made it difficult to keep the park running....

Giant Mr. Potato Heads dotting the landscape is just another part of life here in Rhode Island, a result of an ambitious art installation in 2000. To celebrate the fact that the classic toy originated at Hasbro, and to encourage family-oriented tourism, there were 37 six foot Mr. Potato Head statues erected. They were creatively decorated by local artists, companies, and organizations and placed in various locations all over the state....

For some reason, Wisconsinites seem to be the most in denial about the way we speak. Every state and region has it’s own vernacular and the Dairy State is no different. We’re rather polite and we like to shorten words. We add “hey” to the end of most any sentence to indicate it was in fact a question and we tend to be rather nasally in our deliver, especially of vowels....
