We happened to find one spectacular fall destination that you will absolutely want to go visit as the leaves start changing colors and pumpkin spice takes over the shelves: Oakland, Maryland.
Most people have heard of Deep Creek area as either a quintessential skiing destination or the perfect place for a lake retreat in the summer.

But we recently discovered that Garrett County, Maryland as a whole is one the best places for a fall getaway.

First of all, the drive there might be one of the prettiest drives in the entire country. The fall foliage is truly out of this world.

While you should visit any time you get the chance, we recommend visiting during the annual Autumn Glory Festival, which is celebrating its 50th year.

The Festival takes place in Oakland, Maryland, which was recognized as America’s Best Town for Fall Colors by Travel & Leisure in 2014.

The festival is a five day fall extravaganza that features parades, live music, and even some friendly competition.

There is also craft fair where you can pick up some local artisanal crafts and goodies.

They even have an antique car show, banjo championships, food eating contests, and so much more!

The Festival is one of the coolest in the entire area, and it’s not to be missed. Mark your calendars for Wednesday, October 11 through Sunday, October 15, 2017 in Oakland, Maryland. Bring your camera and your sense of fall fun!
