Head to the Harry S. Truman Presidential Library where you can learn all about Independence’s most famous resident, and find this hidden gem.

The replica was presented to Independence by the people of Annecy, France as a friendship token. The bell was dedicated by former President Truman on November 6, 1950.

The bell was originally brought to the Truman Memorial Building but was later moved to the presidential library. This amazing photo of the Liberty Bell replica was actually found in the former president’s desk at the library.

The bell now sits in the southeast corner of the library grounds. Visitors can walk right up to the bell for an up-close and personal look.
