Mitchell’s Restaurant has been a Pittsburgh favorite since 1906. Founded by Greek immigrant Constantinos Michalopoulos, who arrived in Pittsburgh in 1902, the name Mitchell’s came about quite by accident.

Michalopoulos Dining Room was just too long to paint across the front of the restaurant window. So, the entrepreneur opened the phone book and landed on Mitchell. And, viola! Mitchell’s was born.
