The Marlette Lake Trail near Carson City is a popular hike among locals and it’s easy to see why. This 4.5-mile trail boasts some of the most incredible scenery. The trail totally immerses you in beauty, making you feel like you’ve been transported to a fantasy world.

The well-maintained trail is rated as moderate. It does contain a bit of an elevation gain and since it’s an out-and-back trail, it actually is about 10 miles long. However, you certainly don’t have to complete the entire trail to witness the incredible beauty that awaits you here.

You’ll come across all sorts of hidden treasures, including old stone chimneys from the distant past. There’s something strangely beautiful about seeing these man-made structures amid a stunning natural landscape.

There’s really no bad time to visit this area. The place is simply stunning no matter what time of year it is. The trail can get a lot of snow during winter and snowshoes are recommended.
