It’s not surprising that Australian airline Qantas is used to long-haul flights – after all, Australia is a fair distance away from, well, anywhere. But the airline is about to launch the world’s longest flight in a super-luxurious new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.
Here are the details about the world’s new longest flight and an inside look at the gorgeous new plane that will be making the journey.
Qantas will begin flying from Perth to London in March 2018 using a brand-new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.

This new aircraft will allow the world’s first regularly scheduled non-stop passenger route between Australia and Europe.

So just how long is this flight? It will take a full 17 hours and 20 minutes to complete the route.

Qantas Group CEO Alan Joyce stated that the company has “been waiting 97 years…for this aircraft.”

The interior will be über-luxurious, with a total of 236 seats and three classes of service: business, premium economy and economy.

Each business class passenger will have aisle access, specially designed china and glassware, a 16-inch touchscreen entertainment system, a custom-made pillow, a set that reclines fully flat and access to a self-service bar.

Premium economy passengers can also look forward to personal storage areas, 13.3-inch entertainment screens and pull-out shelves at their roomy seats.

Economy passengers will enjoy wide seats, USB and AC power plugs, mood lighting and personal device holders.
