There’s little sadder than cruelty to innocent, helpless animals — but it happens every day. Fortunately, some kind-hearted people in Chichester, New Hampshire have made it their mission to help these animals, and the work they do is absolutely incredible.
Founded in 1996, Live and Let Live Farm takes in abused and abandoned animals with a focus on horses, as well as pregnant dogs and cats.

The animals that arrive at the farm have often been treated with extreme cruelty and are in desperate need of veterinary care. The owners and volunteers at Live and Let Live nurse them back to health and teach them to trust people again.

As always, animals do just as much for people as people do for animals. Live and Let Live Farm works with school groups, prisoners, veterans groups, and more to give people who need a little animal love a chance to interact with horses that could use some love themselves.

The farm currently has nearly 60 horses. Those that can be rehabilitated and adopted out move on to new homes, while those that have problems too severe stay on the farm to live out the rest of their days in the company of other animals and loving people.

The farm doesn’t turn away other kinds of animals, either — after all, goats need care and love just as much as dogs and cats do.

Of course, when a pregnant dog is brought in, it’s usually pretty easy to find new homes for the puppies!
