Lake Canyon Lake is located in Duchesne County, south of Starvation State Park.
This remote little lake is stocked by the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources with Colorado River cutthroat trout. In some of the shallow areas, you can even see the trout swimming around.

The lake is very small, covering just 36 acres.

Get there early, or camp overnight so you can start fishing at daybreak when the fish are hungry.

Only artificial lures and flies are allowed here. The limit is two fish, with only one cutthroat. However, you’ll want to practice catch-and-release for smaller fish and those you don’t intend to consume.
