Last week, Business Insider published a study by Niche that ranked the best school district in every state and Jenks School District took the title for Oklahoma. It looked at many different areas including academics, safety and diversity. Here’s why Jenks ranked the top in the state:

Jenks School District is located just south of Tulsa and serves more than 11,000 students at nine different school sites.

Every school was graded in five areas: academics, health, safety, diversity and teachers.

It was only 1 of 10 schools that received straight A’s for all areas and only 1 of 2 schools that received all A’s and A+’s. Their overall grade was an A+.

Diversity is important at Jenks and their A grade goes to show it. The student body consists of 59% Caucasian, 12% Hispanic, 9.7% Asian, 7.8% African-American and 3.4% Multiracial.

Jenks has a student-teacher ratio of 18:1 and received an A for teacher ranking. Their average teacher pay is $40,806 per year.

It’s no surprise they received an A+ for academics, as they have won many awards in this area over the years. They have an average graduation rate of 90%.

And 78% are proficient in reading and math.

Everyone knows they have one of the best football programs in the state, but did you know they also have an excellent health program for every age? They also received an A+ in health.

And another A+ in the area of safety! Jenks top priority is creating a safe environment for students to flourish in.
