Parts of Iowa got a magical dusting of snow on Christmas Eve. While it may not be quite enough for an exciting afternoon of sledding we can dream, right?

There are plenty of great parks to visit during the coldest months here in Iowa. This place is one you’ll want to put on your list this winter.

Urbandale Winter Park Sledding Hill is the perfect place.

We’ll need at least four inches of snow for this giant winter park to open.

Gary Williams/Flickr The park is 15-acres of open space. The sledding hill is about 800 feet long and offers a nice 40-degree downhill slope.

If you prefer to enjoy winter on skates, there’s an ice rink nearby, too.
