Doing any major traveling during the holiday season is something that most Americans dread, but it’s also an annual adventure that the majority of us have to face. According to AAA, holiday travel records will make your jaw drop this year with an estimated 107.3 million Americans traveling between December 23rd and January 1st.

Out of the 107.3 million travelers, 97.4 million of them will be hitting the road this holiday season.

Another thing to be noted? AAA also reported that 2017 marks the highest car-rental rates for holiday travel in five years! The average daily rate to rent a car is now reportedly 11% higher than year.

As for those traveling by plane? The estimated number of American travelers in the air this holiday season is a total of 6.4 million.

And as for the remaining 3.6 million travelers? They’ll be traveling by either train, bus or cruise ship.
