Spring weather has arrived early in Arizona, especially in our northern sections of the state. The temperatures are warming up and most of know what that means: time to get in hikes and other outdoor activities before the summer heat kicks in!
If you’re looking for an easy trail in northern Arizona that will take you to a hidden oasis, then we have just the spot for you!
One little oasis we simply love is the Hanging Garden located near Lake Powell in Page. This treasure is accessible by hiking, although you’ll find the trail to be a pretty easy trek.

Eventually, you’ll come up to a sandstone cliff that looks like this and you’ll find the little oasis hiding in the shade under the cliff.

This is the hanging garden, a small piece of evident that shows the resiliency of life in the desert. The plants line the wall of the cliff, which is just a few feet tall, and feeds off a spring. You’ll find this area is cool and lush, especially when compared to the surrounding desert.

Details for the Hanging Garden hike can be found at the National Park Service website. You can find the trailhead at this Google Maps link. As with any hike in Arizona, be sure to bring more water than you think you will consume and always be sure to leave no trace when visiting.
