There’s a pair of little-known castles hiding in West Liberty, Ohio that date all the way back to the mid-1800s. Today, they’re private family-owned museums full of Ohio history just waiting to be discovered. With stunning architecture, rare antiques and Old World decor, these castles are one of Ohio’s best-kept secrets.

Located in Logan County are two chateaux style castles with a Gothic design. They’re absolutely stunning and most people don’t even know they exist.

The castles are named Mac-A-Cheek Castle (pictured below) and Mac-O-Chee Castle.

Today, this private, family-owned museum features more than 200 years of Ohio history than you can explore via self-guided tours.
