New Jersey is home to a wide variety of unique restaurants, some of which can be found in one-of-a-kind settings. One of my favorites, Old Glory Kitchen, is housed in a former church building in Keyport. You can learn more about that by clicking here. Another eatery housed in a repurposed building is Firehouse Family Restaurant.

As you may have guessed, Firehouse Family Restaurant can be found in a former firehouse.

The restaurant keeps the firehouse theme going with their decor.

They “continue to pay tribute to the bravery and distinguished service of first responders, firefighters, and police officers.” The building features patches from departments all over the world; even including Marshal, FBI, and CIA patches.

They’ve got a full bar, banquet hall, and more!

Last but not least, you’ll love the food.

Popular picks include the wings and open-slice steak. Other options include burgers, pasta, chicken parm, fried calamari, and more. There’s a children’s menu and a fantastic lunch special that costs just $6.50. Prices are fair, here…even for dinner! Happy hour happens daily from 3-7 p.m., except on Thursdays when it lasts all night.

To top it all off, they cater, and deliver through Uber Eats. Find Firehouse Family Restaurant at 42 Plauderville Avenue, Garfield. Learn more about their business here.
