Detroit pizza lovers rejoice! According to a 2017 SmartAsset report, our city just won the top spot for the “Best Cities For Pizza Lovers” in America! Beating out cities like New York and Chicago, which are known for their famous pizza styles, we’ve finally been recognized for our very own Detroit-style pizza, and we couldn’t be more proud! So go grab yourself a slice of delicious square, deep-dish pizza! You’ve earned it!

Smart Asset looked at 5 factors when coming up with the city with the best pizza lovers.
SmartAsset.com To find which city loved pizza the most, they analyzed data on total number of pizza places, average Yelp ratings, the percent of pizza places with average ratings above 4.4, the number of pizza places per 10,000 residents, and the local cost of living. Detroit had an average Yelp rating of 3.42 and the ranking also found out that there are 15.5 pizza places for every 10,000 residents in the Motor City!
Detroit was also (finally) recognized for having its own style of pizza.
