Utah is famous for its ski resorts, and for good reason. Our snow is amazing, and the scenery from the lift is spectacular. Of course, even Utah’s most incredible winter pastime has its drawbacks; most resorts have long lines, and ticket prices have steadily increased, which can put a real dent in your wallet. Luckily, there’s a little resort that’s Utah’s newest, best-kept secret.
Cherry Peak Resort opened for the 2015/16 ski season, and has been growing ever since. It’s located in Utah’s Bear Mountains, just 3.5 miles from Richmond, and about 17 miles north of Logan.
Cherry Peak Resort/Facebook The resort is open Monday through Wednesday from 3 PM to 9 PM; Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 9 AM to 9 PM; Sunday from 9 AM to 4 PM.
This resort is smaller than many of Utah’s other ski resorts, but it offers pretty much everything you need.
Cherry Peak Resort/Facebook Cherry Peak is situated on 200 acres and has four ski lifts and 29 runs, with a mixture of easy, medium and difficult terrain.
Because this resort is more remote than the Salt Lake area resorts, the lift lines are much shorter, which means more skiing and less waiting.

What’s better than this view? The money that’s left in your wallet after you buy your lift ticket.
