Views of Cincinnati’s skyline are ingrained in the hearts of residents and there are a few magical places throughout the city where you can experience them. Some of these overlooks are more well-known, like the views from Devou Park in Covington and the streets of Mt. Adams. But there is one Cincinnati Park that is tucked away in Clifton that offers a view of our city that you have to see to believe. Bellevue Park has an intriguing history and a sweeping view that is a Cincinnati must-see.

Located at the end of Ohio Avenue in Clifton, Bellevue Park is one of the many beautiful Cincinnati parks that offers stunning views of our city.

Flickr/5chw4r7z Many years ago, the Cincinnati-Clifton Incline connected Elm Street in Over-the-Rhine to Ohio Avenue in Clifton. At the top of the incline stood the Bellevue House, which was a popular spot for dancing and leisure.

While there are still remnants of this era in the area, the property is now home to a small park with interesting architecture.

Flickr/5chw4r7z The park opened in 1955, at a time when outdoor dancing was a popular activity. Therefore, the structure features a cantilever roof, bandstand, and three pergolas that form the pavilion’s unique concrete canopy. To say it’s a photogenic park is an understatement.

The park is small, with just the building, restrooms, and a few benches to enjoy the surroundings.

This hidden gem is mostly known for the one-of-a-kind views of Cincinnati.
