Restaurants come and restaurants go–and while it’s always sad to see a beloved icon turn off its lights for good, there’s usually a new exciting eatery that takes its place. Still, there are some dining establishments that leave a hole in our hearts when they close their doors, especially when they knew just how to make our favorite foods.
Montana is 128 years old, so obviously this is a small sample of the many eateries that have come and gone. But it sure would be nice if they were still around.

Libby Cafe Facebook The Libby Cafe opened its doors in 1994, promptly winning us over with their amazing huckleberry flapjacks. The owners retired at the end of April 2017, and while we wish them well, we miss their hearty breakfasts already.

Tower Pizza Facebook After 45 years of serving Missoula mouthwatering pizza, Tower Pizza closed its doors in 2017, much to everyone’s dismay.

Truby’s Fine Food & Spirits Facebook Truby’s was a beloved staple in Whitefish for over 20 years, and the locals were devastated when the wood-fired pizzeria closed last year.
These Montana restaurants might (sadly) be closed, but you’ll still have plenty of delicious options for dining out.
