There are so many places to go in Kansas it might seem like it’ll take you forever to get through your list, but here are 7 different quick road trips in Kansas packed with all sorts of things to do in a day or two. Not only do they have dinosaurs, but they also feature fossils found around Kansas, including the famous fishes above. Then, head over to Monument Rocks to see our favorite Niobrara Chalk formation and check out the area where the fishes were found.

Then, take your adventures to the riverside area, and walk around the Keeper of the Plains and learn a little about Native culture and history. Plus, the bonfires around the Keeper are lit nightly for an amazing view!

Toto’s Tacoz Facebook The Oz Museum is full of pieces and displays from The Wizard of Oz books, movie, and musical, leading you through the world from a behind-the-scenes type view. Of course, some of us would rather skip the Oz hype, but there’s a lot to learn here that many of us don’t know! Of course, a stop at Toto’s Tacoz is a short walk away, and a delicious way to end your day in Wamego.
- Boot Hill, Kansas Teachers Hall of Fame, and the Famous Gunfighters Wax Museum (Dodge City)

Of course, you can’t stop by boot hill without a visit to the Teachers Hall of Fame and the wax gunfighters, especially since they’re both in the same building! I will warn you though, the gunfighters are a bit creepy in wax form.

Steve Bittinger/Flickr Lindsborg, the sweet Swedish town we all know and love, has plenty of small businesses and shops to peruse while you explore the town and take photos of the Dala horses they’re so famous for. While you’re there, however, you should definitely stop by Coronado Heights and explore this miniature castle marking the spot where an explorer gave up his search for the seven cities of gold.
