New Orleans is full of charming neighborhoods with amazing streets that’ll win you over. If you’ve grown up here, sometimes it’s nice to play tourist for a day to renew your love for the Crescent City. If you’ve just moved here or are visiting for a few days, you should take the time to stroll down some of these streets for a picture perfect day.
- Bourbon Street
Wayne Hsieh/Flickr Easily the most famous street in New Orleans, Bourbon Street should be on everyone’s bucket list. Even if you’re not much of a drinker, just passing by the historic bars and jazz clubs with all the lights is fascinating. Also, it’s an excellent street for people watching.
- Freret Street
Infrogmation/Wikimedia Located near the Tulane and Loyola campuses in Uptown New Orleans, Freret Street will charm you with its restaurants, coffee shops, and bars that are dotted along the way. Be sure to check out the Freret street market, which is held on the first Saturday of the month. The market is split up into three categories: food, art, and flea, and it’s a great way to spend an afternoon. Come out to this family friendly event to shop, eat, and enjoy yourself.
- St. Charles Avenue

- Magazine Street

It’s a great alternative if you’re looking for a change of scenery from the hustle and bustle of Bourbon street.

Some of the most picturesque (and historic) buildings can be found here, between Canal and Esplanade. During your walk be sure to stop off at the Carousel Bar at the Hotel Monteleone for a truly unique experience.
- Frenchman

The more than 20 bars and clubs line the street are filled with every style of music you can think off — from Jazz to EDM, you’ll hear it all on Frenchman Street.
- Esplanade Avenue
La Belle Esplanade/Trip Advisor This hidden treasure is perfect if you’re looking for a quiet, scenic street to stroll down. Stretching from the river up to City Park, this is a perfect street for biking or walking when the weather is nice.
