It seems like Mother Nature has spent the last month teasing us. With daily high temperatures in Omaha bouncing from -1 all the way up to 54 degrees during January (and similar fluctuations across the state), it’s been a heartbreaking roller coaster of freezing cold weather… and then balmy, spring-like temperatures.

With more cold weather on the way, we’re bracing for many more weeks of winter, but that doesn’t mean we can’t dream of sun-soaked summer days. Here are 13 photos to help you remember a Nebraska summer.

Hang in there, summer’s coming! When you’re feeling sad about our winter weather, remember that it could always be worse. In 1983, our state plunged into an arctic freeze.
